KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After posting three wins over NAIA DII Top-25 programs to start the season and going 6-1 in their first seven contests, the Davenport men's basketball program has moved into the Top-10 in the first regular season poll. The Panthers, under head coach Burt Paddock, moved up two spots and now sit at No. 9 in the poll that was released by the national office on Tuesday.

Northwood (Fla.) claimed the No. 1 position in the first regular season edition of the 2012-13 NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, announced Tuesday by the national office. The Seahawks were the unanimous decision and received 312 total points. On its early-season 4-0 start, Northwood has won by an average of more than 30 points.

Davenport, winners of their last four contests and six of their first seven, has defeated three nationally ranked teams in No. 16 Embry Riddle (now No. 8), No. 20 Cornerstone (now No. 15) and No. 23 Southern Oregon (now No. 16). DU has now been ranked in the Top-25 for 38 consecutive weeks and is second only to Northwood's 54 straight rankings.
