SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Davenport women's basketball team went into the locker room with a 23-21 lead, but it couldn't maintain it as Indiana Wesleyan used a 22-1 run midway through the second period to beat the Lady Panthers 61-43 to win the NAIA Division II Tournament championship Tuesday evening. The Lady Panthers finish the incredible season 34-3.

Tiesha Stokes led the effort for the Davenport, collecting 12 points, four rebounds and five steals, but Davenport had no luck finding the bucket, shooting a season-low .333.

Davenport led the game for a majority of the first half, having posted a lead of as many as seven. Stokes connected on a 3-pointer and a jumper and Kia Frazier followed with a fastbreak layup to give the Panthers a 17-10 lead at the 9:27 mark. But the seven-point lead would be cut to two and Davenport would go the rest of the way leading by no more than two heading into intermission.

The Lady Panthers when went into intermission shooting .360 with Stokes leading the way with seven points and four rebounds and steals each.

Indiana Wesleyan would tie the game 23-23 13 seconds into the second period but Davenport regained the lead on Kendra Cook's layup and Emily Nielsen's pair of free throws. Both teams would trade the lead, but it wasn't until the 11:23 mark when the Wildcats found that huge 22-1 momentum that became the difference in the game.

Davenport entered a drought to which it went 11:24 without a field goal. Staci Stadler ended the drought with a three at the right corner pocket with 27 seconds left.
