CORNING, N.Y. – Davenport University Athletics would like to congratulate former men's lacrosse coach Bob Clarkson on his recent induction into the Corning Painted Post Hall of Fame. Clarkson, who coached Men's Lacrosse as well as Bowling here at DU from 2008-2012, was one of 21 members inducted into the Hall of Fame for 2013. Clarkson's coaching highlight at DU came when he led the Panthers to the MCLA DII national championship in the spring of 2011.

The Corning-Painted Post Sports Hall of Fame is a not-for-profit service organization dedicated to the promotion of sports in the Corning-Painted Post area.  As such the purpose of the organization is to recognize outstanding sports accomplishments of individuals and/or groups of individuals by inducting them into the Corning-Painted Post Sports Hall of Fame.

Clarkson guided the Panthers since its inaugural season in 2007 and ended his career with an overall record of 73-21. The team won the CCLA North Division title twice under the guidance of Clarkson and made it to the MCLA DII Final Four in four straight seasons from 2009-2012.  The 2011 campaign brought the biggest moment of school history for the lacrosse team as they defeated St. Thomas (Minn.) 14-9 to claim their first ever national title.

Clarkson, one of the 21 members honored this year, was inducted in the “Special Contribution” category for his work as a teacher and coach in lacrosse across the country.
