FOREST CITY, Iowa – Coming off a tough loss to St. Ambrose University 24 hours ago, the No. 21 Davenport University women's soccer team got back on the winning track as it closed out its non-conference season with a 6-0 victory at Waldorf College on a much warmer Sunday afternoon.

Lizzie Paul scored two goals in the match to record her third multi-goal season this season, Natalie McHale and Letesha Cannonier both netted their first goals of the season while Paige Eli and Kasey Eberlein tallied their sixth and fourth goal of the season, respectively.

The Lady Panthers didn't waste any time finding the back of the net, scoring three goals in five minutes. Three minutes into the match, Eli dribbled toward the right post and although goalkeeper Kaylee Vitale blocked her shot, Paul one-touched the loose ball into the open net to put the Panthers up 1-0.

In the fourth minute, Karitas Elvarsdottir was caught in a jam just outside penalty area but she found Brenna Hartner open on the right side and her cross to the left post found Paul's head to score both her and DU's second goal on the afternoon.

Less than a minute later, Tam Grzybowski threw the back in play to McHale outside the penalty line on the left side and the sophomore made one touch before her shot arced to the right corner of the goal to put DU up 3-0.

The Lady Panthers put the match out of reach midway through the first half. After receiving a pass from Paul, Eli dribbled toward the right post and sent the ball to the other side where Letesha Cannonier made leap into the air to head in DU's fourth goal of the match.

Eli knocked in the fifth goal of the match in 77th minute after picking up a rebound that Vitale deflected from a shot by Eberlein from 30 yards out. In the 81st minute, Eli fed a ball into the penalty area where Eberlein broke away from the Warrior defense to make a one-touch shot into the net to put Davenport ahead 6-0.

The Panthers road swing continues as they open the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference season at newcomer Lawrence Tech Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

Post-Match Quotes - Head coach Chris Allen:

On the match - "We came out flying today and after a great start like that we controlled the play and took care of business. They definitely made it difficult for us second half but we stayed strong and we were able to work out a couple kinks after the match Saturday."

On starting WHAC play next weekend - "We cannot wait to get started with a new test in the conference away next Saturday! We've had two long weekends that have sandwiched a match against the current WHAC champions. We set up this week with five matches as a test for our team, and all-in-all, I am pleased with how we have done. Our record this week is 4-1 with two nationally recognized teams, and Aquinas, who is always tough, is a great reward for lots of effort and learning. We couldn't have prepared much better for our 2012 conference schedule. We've played one bad half during the week and we got punished, hard.
"
