Gabe Sochanek is this week’s Davenport Male Athlete of the week as he helped the men’s rugby team to a 39-10 win over Wheeling Jesuit. Sochanek scored two tries in the game to lead the team.
 
After the men’s rugby team took a 20-10 lead early in the second half, Sochanek took over as he scored his first try of the game with 21 minutes left in the game to give DU a 27-10 lead after a successful conversion.
 
Sochanek then put the game out of reach for the Cardinals with his second try of the game just three minutes later and DU led 34-10. The Panthers went on to win the match 39-10.
 
The men’s rugby team will close out their fall 15s schedule on the road next week against Lindenwood.
