Dominez Burnett is the Davenport Male Athlete of the Week after he led the men’s basketball team to three wins this past to start off the season. DU beat Grace Bible, St. Catharine, and No. 15 St. Francis to start the season.
 
In the season opener on the road against Grace Bible, Dominez Burnett led the Panthers to a comeback over the Tigers. Burnett finished the game with 29 points and 10 rebounds to cap of a double.
 
At the Cougar Classic in Fort Wayne, Ind., Burnett was named to the All-Tournament Team and was named Tournament MVP after he led the team to the tournament title with nine points against St. Catharine and 16 points against No. 15 St. Francis (Ind.).
 
Burnett will lead the men’s basketball team into their home opener against Purdue North-Central on Monday at 7 p.m.
