Jonathan Cheshire was named the Davenport Female Athlete of the Week after he picked up two saves in three games for the Davenport baseball team as they picked up a three game sweep over Union (Ky.) to start their season.
 
Cheshire started the week with a two inning save on Friday, where he struck out three batters, while allowing just one hit. In his second save of the weekend on Saturday, the sophomore from Howell, Mich., pitched 1.2 innings and allowed two hits to preserve a 6-4 win for the Panthers.
 
Cheshire and the baseball team will head back to Kentucky as they face eighth-ranked Georgetown (Ky.) in four games this weekend.
