Jorge Benitez in the Davenport Male Athlete of the Week after he led the Davenport men’s golf team to a second place finish at the Hanover Invitational in Seymour, Ind., as he finished in third place as an individual.

Benitez was able to score a 73 in the first of the event to finish day one in a tie for fourth place, as the team sat in third place. In the final round, Benitez shot another 73 to finish the event in third place overall, while he was able to boost the team up one spot to finish in second.

Benitez and the men’s golf team will head to Fort Wayne, Ind., for the WHAC Championship on Thursday at the Coyote Creek Country Club.
