Jorge Benitez is the Davenport Male Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after he led the men’s golf team the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championship along with an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship.
 
Benitez was able to win medalist honors at the WHAC Championship for the second straight season as he posted a three round score of 219 and finished three-over par for the tournament, just one stroke ahead of his teammate Alex Watier.
 
Benitez and men’s golf team will participate in the Knight Invitational on Tuesday at Pilgrims Run GC, before they head to Daytona Beach, Fla., for the NAIA National Championships May 19-22.
