Gabe Sochanek is the Davenport Male Athlete of the Week after he and the men’s rugby team were able to defeat Army in the D1A Rugby National Quarterfinals in West Point, N.Y., this past weekend.
 
Sochanek led the Panthers scoring two tries in the game after Davenport was able to control of the game in the early going, and were able to hold off a late rally by the Black Knights to come away with a 50-24 win on the road.
 
Sochanek will lead the Panthers into their D1A Rugby National Semifinals this weekend as they travel out to California to face St. Mary’s College on Saturday.
