In a match-up that featured two of the top teams in the Central Region, the Lakers from Grand Valley State controlled the play and came away with a 4-1 victory over Davenport. GVSU got on the board two times in the first period, once to take an early 1-0 lead and the second to come right back after the Panthers tied it up. GVSU would go on to add one more in each the second and third periods for the final outcome. Bobby Collar found the back of the net for the lone Davenport goal as he was assisted by Brit Ouellette and Rick Gadwa. Davenport will return to action next Friday and Saturday when they travel to Indiana as their GMHL season gets into full swing.
