After a disappointing two game series vs Miami of Ohio, the Panthers traveled on Sunday, November 20 to Mt. Pleasant to face the Chippewas of Central Michigan. Penalities have been their nemesis the past two weeks and Sunday's game was huge as far as Central Region ranking were concerned.
The Panthers opened the scoring right away with a goal from Rick Gadwa, assisted by Bob Collar and Justin Poorman. The Panthers and the Chippewas alternated goals for the next 12 minutes as Davenport's second goal was scored by Will Collar assisted by Wes Baughman. Jeff Kraemer notched the third goal for the Panthers assited by Chad Anguilm and Wes Baughman. The first period ended with the Panthers leading 3-2. Early in the second period, Chippewas forward Jordan Jakubic tied the game, but after that goal, it was all Davenport. The Panthers scored four unanswered goals over the last two periods for the much needed win. Linemates Bobby Collar and Eric Troup scored the next two goals and the forward line of Rick Gadwa, Eric Troup and Bobby Collar led the panthers with three goals and five assists. The last two goals to seal the game were scored by Forward Jonah Rogowski who continues his stellar season.
The Panthers have a much needed week off for Thanksgiving. Davenport returns to the ice Nov. 30/Dec. 1st to visit ACHA Div. I Ohio University. The Panthers would like wish all of their fans a very Happy Thanksgiving.
