Athens, Ohio - The Davenport University Hockey team traveled to Athens Ohio for a two game match-up against ACHA DI powerhouse Ohio University. The Bobcats are currently ranked 6th in the nation in the ACHA DI rankings. The fast skating Bobcats came out flying in the first game and scored in the first minute of play to take a 1-0 lead. The Panthers answered back a few minutes later with a goal from Jonah Rogowski, assisted by Justin Poorman and Dayne Gluting. The line of Rick Gadwa, Eric Troup and Bob Collar known for their explosive offensive each took a turn in the penalty box and this allowed the Panthers ample time to get a good look at the Bobcats power play. The Bobcats posted three unanswered goals of which two were on the power play to take a 4-1 lead. DU cut the lead to two with a goal from Senior Bill McSween on a great pass from Chad Anguilm and Wes Baughman also assisted on the play. That is as close as the Panthers would get as the Bobcats score a couple of third period goals to win 6-2.
