Box Score
Hudsonville, Mich. - Head Coach Paul Lowden reached the 200-win milestone today thanks to a solid team effort that was highlighted by a few rookies. DU posted its sixth straight win of the season as they downed Siena College 5-0.
Siena is the team that Davenport met in the 2007-2008 ACHA D2 National Semifinals but they were no match today as the Panthers rolled to their 6th straight win. DU got on the board in the first period on a goal from Chad Rutzel off a nice pass from Eric Troup. DU came right back soon after and doubled their lead with a goal from Adam Thomas.
The two teams would then play scoreless hockey over the next period and a half as DU went into the 2nd intermission with a 2-0 lead. A game that the Panthers were in full control completely went DU's way when they scored three times in the final 20 minutes as rookies Ben Dykstra, Dan Reaume and Tom Dowell all scored to push the final score to 5-0.
Chris Joswiak earned the shutout in net for the Panthers and they will look to extend their winning streak to seven games when they host University of Colorado tomorrow night at 7:15 at Patterson Ice Center. The game will still be a part of the GVSU National Invite.
