Indianapolis, Ind. - On a day where a solid round would have possibly won the tournament, the Panthers picked a bad day to shoot some of their worst combined scores of the spring. After sitting in 3rd place, only seven shots backs of the leader on Day One, DU shot a 314 which would drop them to 9th place overall for the Tournament.
The Panthers were unable to mount a comeback as they could not put together a full team effort on Day 2. With seven of the top 25 teams in the country battling for position, Davenport struggled to a team score of 314 in route to a tournament total of 619. The score finished the Panthers in 9th place overall, 13 shots behind eventuall champion Berry College (GA). Lindenwood (MO) soared up the leader board with a 291 on Day 2 but eventually would lose in a playoff to Berry.
Davenport was led on Day 2 by a pair of 77's fired by Kale Waaso and Nick Boone. Adam Thomas posted a 79 and Kevin Palmer rounded out the scoring with an 81.
Boone finished in 22nd place overall with a 154 2-day total and was followed by Adam Thomas, Kale Waaso and Kevin Palmer who all shot 155 for two rounds.
Davenport will now take part in the Pre-Regional on Friday and Saturday in Peru, IN. The tournament is a preview of the NAIA Region VIII Tournament later this month.
