Plymouth, Ind. - The men's golf team was hoping to take advantage of playing in the better weather on Day Two, but some costly holes proved huge as they fell back to 17th place overall. After shooting a team score of 307, the Panthers will now hope to remain at or move up in the standings to make the 54-hole cut.

After escaping the worst conditions on Day One, Davenport looked to escape the rain and cold on Day 2 and somewhat easier scoring conditions. As they sat only 11 shots out of 3rd place, the goal was to post a low round and move up in the standings.

Unfortunately, the team could not put together four solid rounds and fell back to 17th place, which puts them right on the cut line heading into tomorrow's 3rd round. Freshman Kevin Palmer was steady once again for the Panthers as he posted the low round this far for DU as he came in with an even par 72. He was followed in scoring by Nick Boone (76), Adam Thomas (79) and Zac Bested (80).

British Columbia posted the low round of the tournament on Day 2 with an impressive 281 (-7) to take over the lead from Johnson and Wales (FL). After tomorrow's round, the field will be cut to the top 17 teams and top 40 individuals. Palmer sits in 17th place overall at 145 (+3) and Nick Boone is at 152 (+8) after two rounds.
