GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The D3 hockey team was back in action Friday night when they defeated Jackson CC 7-4 at Patterson Ice Arena. This was the Panthers third match-up with the Jets this season, and their third victory.

In the first period Chad Ouellette started the scoring for the Panthers from Jason Kraemer to put DU up 1-0. The Jets tied the game up five minutes later which would end the first period at 1-1.

Davenport took over in the second period adding four more goals to the scoreboard. Mike Buwolda scored the first goal of the period from Peter Vogl and Ben Duthler. Alex Mikla added the second goal which was unassisted. Duthler accounted for the last two goals of the period which were both assisted by Chad Ouellette and Jordan Steger.

Captain Ben Duthler completed his hat trick in the third period off an assist by Mikla. Adam Tomacari also added another goal for the Panthers from Duthler to give DU the 7-4 win over the Jets. Duthler accounted for five points on the night and teammate Jordan Steger was plus six. Steger was on the ice for six out of the seven DU goals, and was not on the ice when Jackson CC scored their four goals.

The win puts Davenport at 11-11 on the year as they continue their three game home stretch tonight against Northwood University. Game time is set for 7:00pm.
