GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The D3 hockey team earned its second victory in a row after defeating Northwood University tonight 3-2 in overtime. After trailing for a major part of the contest DU scores a late goal in the third period to force the game into overtime.

Right from the beginning of the first period the Panthers found themselves having to crawl back from a deficit as DU fell behind just 3:42 into the game. Being down 1-0, Davenport struck back to tie the game at 1-1 when Adam Tomacari was able to put the puck into the net from teammate Alex Mikla.

Northwood then opened up the second period with another goal putting DU down 1-2, until late into the third period. DU tied up the contest with three minutes left to go in the third off an unassisted goal by Taylor Keyworth.

Heading into overtime with the game tied at 2-2, the Panthers waited until the mere end to finalize their second straight win. Norm Farr had the game winning goal from teammate Mike Buwolda with only 1:45 left to go.

The win puts Davenport at 12-11 on the year as they take on Adrian College tomorrow at Patterson Ice Arena. Game time is set for 3:00pm.
