Box Score

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport opened up the post-season tonight with an impressive 6-2 win over Indiana University in the GMHL Quarterfinals. The win sends the Panthers into Saturday's semifinal round against 4th seed Miami (OH) at 9:00 AM.

DU struck first in the opening period when Brit Ouellette found Jeff Slusser in front of the Hoosier goalie for an easy one-timer but Indiana struck right back less than three minutes later to tie the game 1-1. Davenport's offense would strike twice more though in the opening period on goals by Ben Dykstra and Jeff Kraemer to lead 3-1 heading into the first intermission.

The Panthers offense did not stop there though as the host and #1 seed got two more goals in the second period from Bobby Collar and Brit Ouellette to take full control at 5-1.

The third period started very slowly for both teams, but after a Hoosier goal cut the lead to just three, Davenport struck again on a nice goal from Bobby Collar to seal the 6-2 win.

Chris Joswiak got the win in goal for Davenport as they will meet the 4th seed Miami RedHawks in the GMHL Semifinals at 9:00 AM on Saturday morning.
