MIDLAND, Mich. - Late on Saturday night, the D3 Hockey team wrapped up all of their games before the National Tournament as they downed rival GVSU 5-4 in OT to win the consolation game of the MCHC Tourney. DU will now turn their attention to the National Tournament in Fort Myers, FL.
After dropping a tough game to Hope the night before, the Panthers returned to the ice late Saturday night to face the Lakers of GVSU for 3rd place.

Taking a 1-0 lead into the 2nd period, the Panthers scored again while allowing only one goal to go up 2-1 heading into the final 20 minutes of play. Davenport's 2nd goal was scored by Jordan Phillips (Swartz Creek, Mich.).
After falling behind 4-3 late in the 3rd, DU pulled their goalie and got a big goal from Feher (his second of the period) to tie the game with only 30 seconds remaining.
DU then got the game winner in overtime from Taylor Keyworth on assists from Justin Welker (Speedway, Ind.) and Norm Farr (Jenison, Mich.).
