GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Lady Panthers extended their win streak to start the season to twenty as they took care of Northwestern Ohio 102-63 on Wednesday night. The Panthers entered the game ranked #1 in NAIA Division 2 for the first time this season. Davenport improves to 20-0 on the season and 6-0 in conference play. Northwestern drops to 9-10 overall and 3-4 in conference.

After Amanda Francis got the Lady Racers on the board first, the Lady Panthers came back with an 11-2 run highlighted by a couple three's by Carrie Grubius (Kalamazoo, Mich.) who would finish with 14 points on the night. Three makes from behind the arc on four possessions would bring UNOH within two at 17-15.

Davenport would use a three by Kallie Benike (Campbellsport, Wis.) and Karlee Despres (Belmont, Mich.) to extend the lead back out to ten with 5:39 remaining in the first half.

Benike and Racer's Tara Olberding exchanged three's on two straight possessions to keep Davenport's lead at nine, 37-28.

Davenport entered the half with a 45-32 lead. The Panthers had a six point advantage in the paint and a nine point advantage on points off turnovers but trailed Northwestern in second chance points and points off the bench.

The Panthers opened the second half with six straight points on a couple steals and easy lay-ups to extend their lead to 19 and they wouldn't slow down outscoring the Racers 43-12 in the first ten minutes of the half.

Davenport played their reserves for most of the last ten minutes, giving their bench valuable playing time and the starters some rest for the remaining conference schedule.

The Panthers shot 52.6% from the field, a new record for Davenport at the Student Center, and knocked down 13 three points shots, one shy of a Student Center record, to take down Northwestern Ohio 102-63.

Kallie led all scorers with 17 points going 4-5 from behind the arc. She added 5 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 assist in 17 minutes on the court. Also scoring in double-digits for the Panthers were Carrie Grubius and Riana Hensley (Toledo, Ohio), each adding 14 points.

Kristi Boehm (Kent City, Mich.) recorded 8 assists and tied Kallie with a team high 5 steals. Leah Sevcik (Kewaunee, Wis.), who had 9 points, led DU with 7 rebounds.

The Panthers held Amanda Francis, who leads the conference in scoring with 19.3 points, to just 9 points. Davenport held her to only six shots.

Davenport will make the short trip to in-town rival Aquinas College on Saturday for a 1:00 pm start time. The Panthers are 8-6 all-time against Aquinas and won both meetings last year including a 71-61 win at Aquinas.
