Balanced Effort Lifts Lady Panthers to 7-2 Win over Southeastern

Match was first of spring break trip for Davenport

ORLANDO, Fla. - The women's tennis team picked up a big 7-2 win in their first match of their 2011 spring break trip as they defeated Southeastern University.  DU won five of the six singles matches and two of the three doubles.

Kristi Kuzdal (Grandville, Mich.) had a thrilling three-set match go her way as the freshman started with a 6-4 win in the opening set only to see her opponent take the second 6-2.  Kuzdal then came back strong in the third winning 6-3.

She was part of five wins in singles matches for DU as the Lady Panthers picked up straight set wins from the Favela sisters, Stephanie Fortney (Allegan, Mich.) who won 6-0, 6-0 and Erin Hossack.

Davenport was also solid in doubles as they won two of the three highlighted by a dominating 8-2 win by Hossack and Fortney.

Davenport will be in action next on Tuesday when they travel to Webber International.
