Diana Favela completed a perfect spring break trip with two more wins today as she helped the Lady Panthers to a 1-1 record vs. Ave Maria and Palm Beach Atlantic. DU won 9-0 over Ave Maria before falling 7-2 to PBA.
Diana Favela finished off a perfect singles trip to the Sunshine State as the junior picked up a pair of wins on Saturday against Ave Maria and Palm Beach Atlantic.
In the opening match of the day, the women posted the same exact score against AMU by winning 9-0. Davenport finished off their opponent in every match by straight sets and only dropped 10 sets in singles play and six in doubles action.
Diana's sister Denisse picked up the most impressive win of the day by shuting out her opponent 6-0, 6-0.
Kelly Todd and
Diana Favela dropped only one set and
Kristi Kuzdal only two.
The Favela sisters then combined to defeat their doubles opponent by the score of 8-1.
The opponent got a little more difficult in the second match as host Palm Beach Atlantic downed the Lady Panthers 7-2.
Diana Favela picked up the lone win in singles as she defeated PBA'1 #1 6-3, 4-6, 10-6. The other point for DU came from the doubles team of
Erin Hossack and
Stephanie Fortney as they won at #2 doubles 8-6.
The Lady Panthers are now 4-7 on the year and will be in action next on March 4 against Calvin College.
