ALBION, Mich. – Albion College defeated Davenport University, 6-3, in the first women's tennis match of the spring season for the Lady Panthers.  DU got wins from Kristi Kuzdal and Erin Hossack in singles while Stephanie Fortney teammed with Hossack for the lone doubles win.

?Davenport fell in their top three singles matches but received wins from Kristi Kuzdal (Grandville, Mich.) and Erin Hossack (Dearborn, Mich.) in four and five. Kuzdal defeasted Leah Saurman 6-1, 6-3 while Hossack picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win over Megan Vylonis.??

The doubles competition was very tight with Albion picking up a big 8-6 win in #1 doubles over the Favela sisters.  It marked only the fourth loss for the two at #1 doubles.  DU then got an 8-4 win in #2 doubles from Stephanie Fortney (Allegan, Mich.) and Erin Hossack (Dearborn, Mich.).

??In the closest match of the day, the Lady Panthers fell 9-8 (7-3) in the final set of doubles play.??DU will be in action next when they travel to Florida to take on Southeastern University on February 21. DU will play four other matches in the sunshine state over spring break.
