The Opponent: #25 Cedarville University (American Mideast Conference)
Cedarville comes into Saturday's national quarterfinals as the cinderella story of the 2011 NAIA D2 National Tournament in Sioux City. The Yellowjackets entered the tournament as the fourth team from their conference (AMC) behind Walsh, Daemen and Mt. Vernon Nazarene. CU, the No. 7 seed in the top bracket, used a strong effort to upset No. 2 seed St. Francis (Ind.) in the opening round before topping No. 3 seed College of the Ozarks in the second.
The Yellowjackets are led in almost every category by senior post-player Aubrey Siemon. The 6'1 center averages a double-double with 13.3 points and 12.3 rebounds per game and is also the team's leading foul-shooter and leader in field goal %.
Cedarville also posseses some tough guard play behind Rachel Hurley and Kayla Jenerette. The two have combined for 96 steals and 165 assists coming into the tournament this week.
Cedarville, behind head coach Kirk Martin, are a traditional powerhouse out in Sioux City as they hold a 17-7 overall record at the tournament in their 8th appearance in 2010-11. The Yellowjackets advanced to the 2004 and 2005 national title game but came up empty losing to Morningside both times.
