GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - In their first match since returning from Florida, the Davenport women's tennis team fell to the Knights of Calvin 6-3. DU will next be in action on Saturday when they host University of St. Francis (Ind.) at 12:00pm at Orchard Hills.
After making their first trip south in the program's two year history, the Lady Panthers returned to the indoor courts on Friday at Calvin College. The host team used a 5-2 advantage in singles and 2-1 in doubles to take home a 6-3 win.
Davenport got the doubles win from the team of
Kelly Todd (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and
Kristi Kuzdal (Grandville, Mich.) at No. 3 with an 8-5 win.
On the singles side,
Denisse Favela (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) won at No. 2 singles 7-6, 1-6, 6-4 while
Kristi Kuzdal (Grandville, Mich.) won 6-0, 6-1.
Davenport will host University of St. Francis on Saturday at the Orchard Hills Swim and Tennis Club.
