SYLVANIA, Ohio – Davenport picked up season win No. 20 today as they cruised to a 90-54 victory over host Lourdes on Saturday night in Ohio. Davenport has won three in a row since suffering their first loss of the season and they have won those three by an average of 45 points. DU will be at home next Wednesday when they host Northwestern Ohio at 5:30pm at the Student Center.
Tiesha Stokes led a group of three players in double-figures with a game high 19 points on 9-12 shooting from the field while Leah Sevick finished with 11 and
Kendra Cook 10.
Karli Harris dished out 10 assists which marked her third straight game of more than 10 helpers.
Alison Bouman pulled down seven rebounds and Stokes chipped in with five.
The opening half was one of runs for the No. 10 ranked Lady Panthers as they used 13-0 and a 20-2 runs to take a commanding 33 point lead at the break. After DU opened with a three-pointer and Lourdes came right back with a layup, the margin was never closer than four the remainder of the game. Leading 32-17, DU ran off 20 consecutive points featuring buckets from six different players including five from
Alex Law and four from
Chri Carter.
Davenport shot a blistering 57.9% in the opening half while limiting the host Gray Wolves to just 25.9% and the Lady Panthers forced 21 first half turnovers.
The second half started just as the first ended with Davenport continuing to pull away as they scored 13 of the first 20 points to up their lead to its largest at 70-31 on back to back layups from
Kendra Cook. DU would hold its largest lead of the game at the 3:09 mark when Leah Sevick nailed a 3-pointer to put DU up by 42 (85-43).
Davenport finished the game shooting .529 from the floor while they posted 25 assists on their 36 made field goals. DU limited the host Gray Wolves to just .327 shooting while forcing them into 29 turnovers.
