DEARBORN, Mich. – Alison Bouman had 10 points and 15 rebounds for her first double-double of her career as her efforts helped the fifth-ranked Davenport women's basketball team hold off UM-Dearborn 79-40 in its return to Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference play Wednesday evening.

Tiesha Stokes also had a productive day on the scoreboard, contributing 15 points. Linnea Brandholm also scored all 12 of her points from behind the 3-point line. As a team, DU shot 36 percent from the floor.

After UM-Dearborn got on the board with a 3-point basket, the Panthers would start running away with the lead and used a 15-0 run to take a 19-3 lead with 10:55 left. Alison Bouman, Kayleigh VanKeulen, Alex Law and Linnea Brandholm contributed to the run that made it the difference in the first half.

Davenport entered the locker room shooting 42 percent from the floor, 60 percent from beyond the arc. Bouman paced the Panthers with eight points and nine rebounds. Behind her in the points column was Tiesha Stokes with seven.

The Panthers had to play most of the first half without Stokes and Karli Harris, who both had to sit down due to early foul trouble.

Although she fouled out of the game Stokes led the Panthers in the second half with eight points. The Panthers shot 31 percent from the floor in the latter half. Brandholm led the way for the Panthers in the half with nine points, all coming from behind the 3-point line. Bouman continued to bring down the rebounds as she collected six and scored a pair of points to complete her double-double performance.

The Panthers return home Saturday to play a Battle of the Beltline contest against Aquinas. Opening tip is at 1 p.m.
