GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The women's hockey would faceoff against Ohio State once again on Sunday. Head coach Tom Hofman and his squad would look to extend their win streak to four games. They would do just that as Lauren Yomantas would shutout Ohio State once again. Lexie Boydston would score two goals for the Lady Panthers as they would come away with a 3-0 victory. They will be back in action again next weekend as they host Central Michigan next Saturday and Sunday at Patterson Ice Center.

Coming in less than 24 hours after an overtime win against Ohio State, head coach Tom Hofman and his team would look to continue their win streak. The first stanza opened up the same as regulation did last night. Neither team was able to muster a goal in the first period. DU used the momentum they gained last night to hold the puck in the Buckeye zone. However, Ohio State net minder Bridget Gipper was able to stop the Lady Panthers with her glove.

The second period opened fast; especially for Davenport as Darian Adams break the ice by scoring a goal just under two minutes into the period. Chantal Caraher fed the puck out to Adams from behind the net as she was able to knock it in from just outside the crease to give DU a 1-0 lead.

Adams and Caraher would connect on few more chances put would just miss. With four seconds left in period Lexie Boydston would smash one home on an assist from Caitlin Harrison and Melissa Cresse. Davenport would take a 2-0 lead into the locker room after two periods.

The Lady Panthers would take the 2-0 lead into the third period. Davenport would have a power play chance early on but were able to cash in. DU was able to hold pressure in the Buckeye end, but the Buckeye goaltender would come up big. Davenport had a close chance as Adams would just miss the net on the penalty kill.

With five minutes left in the game Boydston would add her second goal of the game as the puck was loose in front of the Ohio State game and she was able to jam it home. Davenport would kill off a couple late penalties to extend their win streak to four as the final score was 3-0.

After the win coach Tom Hofman talked about extending the win streak to four, "Feels great the girls definitely deserve it. 4-0 in our league, started out 0-4, but we turned it around and Northern [Michigan] got us on the right track and were playing to our potential. You can definitely see their confidence growing."

Lexie Boydston, who scored two goals, talked about how she used the game plan to score today, " We switched up the lines a little, we worked a little harder this week and moved the puck around. We evened out the lines so we had two really strong lines, and it worked really well." Boydston would continue to talk about using this game as momentum into next weekend, "We are going to keep it rolling. We're not going to over look anyone. We're going to  work hard. Pass and score."

The Lady Panthers will be in action again next weekend, as they will face Central Michigan at Patterson Ice Center on Saturday at 6:15 p.m. and Sunday and 10:45 a.m.
