HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The Davenport women's hockey team couldn't find an offensive rhythm and had to play defense for the entire game as Grand Valley State found the back of the net eight times to shut out the Panthers Friday night. The series shifts over to Davenport's Patterson Ice Center Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
 
The Lakers got on the board three minutes into the contest and added two more in the latter portion of the period. Grand Valley State added three goals in the second period and two more in the third.
 
Davenport was outshot 45-8 in the contest. It was also the first time the Panthers were shutout since Nov. 1 against Michigan State.
