No. 2 Panthers Head to Milwaukee for Another Showdown with No. 15 Wolves

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After picking up three wins in South Florida to start the 2013-14 season last weekend, the No. 2 Davenport women's basketball continues the road stretch only this time they will head to the other side of Lake Michigan to meet No. 15 Cardinal Stritch for a third meeting in just over a year. The meeting, held in Milwaukee, Wis., takes place Saturday with a 3 p.m. EST tipoff. Fans can listen to the game on the Davenport Athletics Network with Ken Clemens on the call.

The Davenport Report
Davenport returned to the northern states taking three season-opening wins down in Florida but the Panthers have three contests remaining before they can open their home schedule. During the first three games, Davenport has come out of the locker room with a different attitude as it has outscored its opponents 152-96, averaging 50.6 points in the second period. The Panthers have outscored opponents 127-111 in the opening half, averaging 42.3 points.
 
A Quick at Cardinal Stritch – 2-0 – Head coach John Pfaffl
The Wolves, ranked No. 15 in the NAIA Division II Preseason Top 25, are 2-0 to start the very young season, recently picking up a 52-35 home win over Ashford (Iowa) Wednesday. Julie Raeder led the way with 19 points while Michelle Piepenburg had a double-double night with 10 points and 11 rebounds. As a team, Cardinal Stritch shot 43.8 percent from the field, 26.7 from 3-point land and 66.7 on the free throw line. The Wolves were participants of last year's NAIA Division II Tournament, reaching to the second round before falling to Davenport 62-39.
