ADRIAN, Mich. –
Tara Gessler made six saves but a goal in the 86
th minute was the difference as the No. 7 Davenport women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 defeat to host No. 20 Siena Heights in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play Wednesday evening.
Alexis Donnelly broke the scoreless result when Alexis Donnelly received a cross from Carlee Pallett in the center of the goal and beat Gessler for the lone goal of the match.
Although the Panthers (7-2-1, 1-1-0 WHAC) tallied 11 shots,
Shameeka Fishley was the only one to record one on goal. Although the Saints (10-1-0, 2-0-0 WHAC) beat the Panthers in shots, 15-11, Davenport had more chances on corner kicks (6-2).
After five grueling matches on the road, the Panthers return home to being a three-match stretch on the Turf Field starting with Marygrove Saturday at noon.
