GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The 6-0 Davenport women's hockey team faces its toughest test of the season thus far as they head to Oxford, Ohio to take on Miami (OH), who are the defending ACHA Division 1 National Champions. The two undefeated teams will face off at 10 p.m. on Friday night, and 5:15 p.m. on Saturday evening.

The Panthers Davenport comes into the weekend with a 6-0 record, and has yet to allow a goal in 13 straight periods. The Panthers are firing on all cylinders, and is receiving great goaltending from Senior
Caitlin Nosanov. Nosanov is now 5-0 on the season, and has posted four consecutive shutouts in her first five starts. The Panther defense is not to go unnoticed though, for they have been spectacular in support of Nosanov's goaltending play.
Davenport is also receiving offensive contribution from a handful of players, with four girls totaling at least 7 points on the season so far.
Chantal Caraher is coming off a five-goal weekend against Wisconsin, and leads the team with 8 total points. Caraher was also awarded Davenport's Female Athlete of the Week for her weekend performance.
Scouting Miami (OH) Miami (OH) comes into this weekend-series with a 6-0 record, and is both the defending CCWHA Conference champions, and the ACHA Divison1 National champions. The Red Hawks have scored double digit goals in four of their six games played this season, and have outscored their opponents 54-9. Miami (OH) was ranked No. 1 in the ACHA Preseason polls.
CCWHA Outlook Although Davenport and Miami (OH) are 6-0 on the season and both have a total of 12 points on the season, Liberty University sits atop the Division 1 Standings. Liberty is 7-0-1 on the season, and leads the nation with 15 points. Michigan State and Grand Valley State also remain undefeated with their 3-0-1 records, and Minnesota stands with a 2-0 record.
