GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After being on the road for their last four games the Davenport D2 hockey team will host crosstown rival Grand Valley State on Friday and will then start the beginning of a seven game road trip on Saturday when they travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. to play Indiana Tech. Their weekend will start on Friday at the Patterson Ice Center to face Grand Valley State at 8:20 p.m.

Scouting Grand Valley State
 
ACHA Division 2 powerhouse comes into the weekend with a 12-2-1-0 record to start the season, which includes a sweep of ACHA D1 squad Rochester College. The Lakers went 1-0-1 last weekend against Lindenwood after they won the first game and tied the second game in Georgetown, Mich. Colin Finkhouse leads the team in points with 23 and is the only one on the team with more than ten assists. Jacob Endicott leads team in goals with 12 on the season. In goal, Doc Hoekzema and Ryan Morey each have played eight games on the year and combined for a 2.51 goals against average along with a .894 save percentage.
 
Scouting Indiana Tech
 
Indiana Tech's ACHA D3 squad comes into the weekend with a 5-10-0-0 record and was off last week after they were swept in a home-and-home series with Indiana. Leading the team in scoring this season is Ryan Theisen with eight goals an 12 assists to lead the team in both categories. Russel Smascz and Braden Susnik have split time in goal this season combining for a .833 save percentage and a 5.92 goals against average.
 
The Panthers return home to face bitter crosstown rival Grand Valley State in a crucial matchup in the Central Region of the ACHA Division 2. The game is set for 8:20 p.m. at Patterson Ice Center on Friday night.
