GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Coming off a tough weekend in which Grand Valley State swept the Pantherrs in a two-game home-and-home series, the Davenport women's hockey team will turn their focus on Michigan State, where the two teams will partake in another home-and home series. Davenport will host MSU first on Friday night, with the puck set to drop at 8 p.m.
Weekend SeriesVs. No. 7 Michigan State University (4-0-2)
Date: Friday, November 21, 2014 and Sunday, November 23, 2014
Puck Drop: 8 p.m. (Friday) and 10 a.m. (Sunday).

The Panthers (5-4-0)Davenport comes into the weekend with a 6-4 record after failing to score a goal in both of their games against Grand Valley State, dropping both games of the series by scores of 1-0 and 2-0. That now makes it four straight games in which the Panthers have been unable to find the back of the net, but that looks to change as they return home for only the second time this season on Friday night.
Although the Panthers haven't been able to put up points, their goaltending has been a bright spot for DU.
Caitlin Nosanov and
Victoria Smishek share the duties behind the net, and have only given up 16 goals in the Panthers first nine games.
Scouting Michigan State (4-0-2)The Spartans come into this weekend's seriesyet to lose a game in regulation, as they possess a 4-0-2 record on the season. The Spartans two ties came in their first game of the season in which they tied Grand valley 1-1 back on Oct. 11, and in their most previous game on Nov. 2 when they tied Adrian College 0-0. Leading the way for the Spartans is Lyndsay Oden, who leads the team in goals (5), Assists (5), and total points (10). Julia King and Maria Barlow share the goaltending duties for MSU, and each hold a 2-0-1 record apiece.
CCWHA OutlookAfter going 1-0-1 aainst Robert Morris this past weekend, Miami (OH) still owns the top spot in the CCWHA standings with 25 total points. The tie helped Robert Morris, as they sit at second place, just a point above Grand Valley State. Davenport comes in at fourth place, with MSU rounding out the top five.
