About the Holiday ClassicThis will be the third consecutive season Davenport has hosted its Holiday Classic at the Student Center. Marygrove has taken part of the classic since its inception while Grace Bible and Roosevelt are making their first appearances. Holy Cross (Ind.) appeared in the first two years while St. Clair (Canada), NCAA Division III Calvin have made one appearance. Davenport is 4-0 in its classic.
A Quick Look at Grace BibleThe Tigers, located just down the road from Davenport, are riding on an eight-game winning streak, with their last defeat being Nov. 14 to Pensacola University in Knoxville, Tenn.
A Quick Look at RooseveltThe Lakers, who have made all two of the program's NAIA Division II Tournament appearances the last two years, are having a bit of struggles under fifth-year head coach Robyn Scherr-Wells, going 5-9 midway through the seasons. Despite losing two-time NAIA All-American Casey Davis to graduation, Roosevelt has relied on Becky Williford (13.1 ppg) and Paige Gallimore (12.0) to handle most of the scoring for the team.
