Darian Adams recorded her first hat trick of the season as her seven points led the way for the Davenport women's hockey team in their 10-0 victory over Central Michigan Friday night.
Laken Kunz and
Chantal Caraher also notched in two goals each, and
Victoria Smishek notched her second shutout of the season. The Panthers will be back in action Saturday and Sunday afternoon as they take on Northern Michigan at the Northern Lights Arena.
Kunz's first goal got the Panthers on the board first as it was the only scoring in the first period between the Panthers and the Chippewas.
Adams saw her first goal come in the second period, along with Kunz's second as
Jenny Deane assisted her to put the Panthers up 3-0 heading into the second intermission.
The rout was on in the third period as Davenport scored seven goals from five different girls.
Caitlin Harrison's second goal of the season led things off for the Panthers, with
Cynthia Davis,
Catie O'Connor also joined in on the scoring party. Both of Caraher's two goals came in the third period as well.
Victoria Smishek came up with her second shutout of the season as she recorded 14 saves for the Panthers. Her individual record improves to 2-3 on the year.
The Panthers (7-6-0) continue their trek up north with two games on Saturday and Sunday against Northern Michigan.
