GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport women's basketball team started an 11-0 run from opening tip and never looked back as the second-ranked Panthers extended their win streak to 21 with a 96-62 victory over Indiana Tech at the Student Center Saturday afternoon. First-place DU improves to 26-1 overall, 19-1 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference while the Warriors fell to 16-12 overall, 13-7 in the WHAC.
Tiesha Stokes led the way by going a perfect 10-for-10 and 2-for-2 in the charity stripe to finish her day with 22 points. Alex Law collected 14 points, Kayleigh VanKeulen had 12, Linnea Brandholm and Kelcie Haizlip both had 10 to round out the Panthers in double figures.
The Panthers also compiled a 49.3 shooting percentage and match its season-high 12 3-pointers for the third time. Indiana Tech, meanwhile, was held to 34.4 percent from the field.
It was all Stokes from tipoff as the sophomore put eight points during Davenport's 11-0 opening run in the span of 3:54. Stokes went a perfect 7-for-7 from the field and 2-for-2 on the charity stripe before sitting down the rest of the first half. Kayleigh VanKeulen was also productive off the bench, hitting three of her four field goals from beyond the arc and adding a free throw for 12 points.
Davenport shot 48.6 percent in the opening period what dominating the boards 27-14. The Panthers defense was also stingy as they held Indiana Tech to 28 percent from the floor while causing 13 turnovers.
Brandholm and Haizlip sparked the Panthers offense in the latter period. After having one free throw and missing four of her shots around the field, Brandholm came out of the locker room and went 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.
The Panthers homestand continues Wednesday as they host UM-Dearborn at 5:30 p.m. In addition to being Senior Day and Panther Pack tailgate, Davenport will also host #DUTweetit social media interaction with former captain Emily Nielsen and Andre Perry, dean of the school's urban education department, as the hosts.

Tiesha Stokes' perfect 10-for-10 in field goal range breaks Abbey Hengesbach's record of 9-for-9 at the Student Center. Hengesbach achieved the previous record against Indiana Tech Feb. 23, 2012…Davenport improves to 22-1 all-time against Indiana Tech, having won 21 straight…The win ties the Student Center record for consecutive victories in the building with 33…Stokes has reached the 20-point mark for the sixth time this season
