Lady Flames Score Four First Period Goals to Down Panthers in Game Two

LYNCHBURG, Va. – After the final buzzer in game one sounded at midnight, the Davenport women's hockey team got a short amount of rest to prepare for game two against Liberty Saturday afternoon. Although the Lady Flames scored all of their goals in the first period, the Panthers held their opponents scoreless in the remaining periods to leave LaHaye Ice Center with a 4-0 loss.
 
Davenport, which falls to 7-18-0 overall, will pull the curtain to the inaugural regular-season next weekend in Central Collegiate Women's Hockey Association play at the University of Michigan. Game one is set for Friday at 9:30 p.m. while the finale will take place Saturday at 3 p.m.
 
Liberty's Carrie Jickling scored the eventual game winner with 16:92 left in the opening period and added her second goal on the day with 6:41 left. Nikki McCombe scored in between Jickling's two goals at the 13:40 mark.
