SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Coming off a 94-40 runaway victory over Ave Maria (Fla.) a little over 24 hours ago in the opening round of the NAIA Women's Basketball Division II Tournament, second-ranked and top-seeded Davenport moves into the second round and will face No. 15 and fourth seed Purdue Calumet (Ind.) Friday at 4:30 p.m. EDT. The Panthers and Peregrines will be one of eight meetings in day three of the national tournament and can be heard on the Davenport Athletics Network with Ken Clemens and Ed Keating calling the action.

A Quick Look at Purdue Calumet
The fourth-seeded Peregrines, the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament champion, had the late-night shift in day one of the NAIA Tournament and had held on to a reeling No. 5 seed Oregon Tech to win the contest 83-75 Wednesday. Cassidy Deno led the game with 26 points and guided a Purdue Calumet ballclub that shot 41.4 percent from the field. The Peregrines remained in the game thanks to free throws, going 32-for-44 from the charity stripe. Purdue Calumet is shooting 41.2 from field goal range and is led by Tierra Turner, who is averaging 18 points per game.
 
Keep on Dancing
Davenport got its 10th consecutive appearance in the NAIA Division II Tournament underway in an impressive fashion as the defensive minded Panthers roll past Ave Maria (Fla.) 94-40 Wednesday. The Panthers improved to 14-9 in the national tournament and have reached as far as the championship game (2011, 2013).
 
Davenport A No. 1 Seed for a Fifth Time
The Panthers will enter Tyson Events Center as the second seed overall and a No. 1 seed in one of four quadrants. Davenport is a No. 1 seed for the fifth time, having been so from for four consecutive seasons (2009-12).
