GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport got back into the swing of things in the regular season after being off for two weeks as they picked up identical 9-0 wins over Calvin College and Lake Superior State. The pair of victories lift the Panthers to 9-4 on the season as they will resume dual matches on March 21 at Hillsdale College. It will be the fifth NCAA DII and GLIAC opponent for DU this season as they are 3-1 so far in those matches.
Davenport took the court for a pair of matches on Saturday; one a road win at Calvin and the other a home victory over Lake Superior State.

The Panthers cruised to their first win of the day against NCAA DIII and MIAA foe Calvin in their building as they took the doubles portion by a final tally of 24-9 including an 8-0 shutout at No. 1 behind
Alyssa Fuentes and
Emily Spiech.
In singles, did not drop a set either as
Puck Luttikhuis (6-0, 6-2),
Kristi Kuzdal (6-1, 6-2) and
Angelica Woods (6-3, 6-0) won by the most commanding scores.
Davenport 9, Lake State 0
In only their second home appearance of the spring season, DU posted an impressive shutout of the Lakers, who are an NCAA DII program and compete in the GLIAC. The win improves DU to 3-1 in those matches this year against the GLIAC teams as they only setback was to Grand Valley State.
The Panthers got a forfeit win at No. 3 doubles and then got wins from Fuentes/Spiech as well as
Marcie Kooyers and Luttikhuis to go up 3-0.
Davenport then rattled off two straight set wins in singles and also got one retirement win and one forfeit to go along with wins by Luttikhuis and
Montserrat Elizondo in three sets to post the sweep.
Davenport will meet another GLIAC foe next week on March 21 when they head down to face the Hillsdale Chargers.
