Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Davenport women's hockey team returned from a merely five-week break from action as they hosted Robert Morris University in game one of their two-game weekend series. Darian Adams led the way for the Panthers as she scored two goals in a 4-4 tie with the Eagles of Robert Morris. Both teams will be back in action against one another Saturday night at 8 p.m. at the Patterson Ice Center.
 
The Panthers found the back of the net just 21 seconds into the game as Megan Martin fed Catie O'Connor for her 10^th goal of the season. Robert Morris responded quickly with two goals from Jordyn Tremain and Lucia Plyer to take a 2-1 lead, until Tara Boliard took a slap shot to the back of the net to even the score at 2-2.
 
After a third lead change from a goal from the Eagle's Brianne Hanson, Darian Adams knotted the score at 3-3 to give her nine on the season, sending the two teams into the first intermission tied.
 
The second period saw an aggressive attack from the Panther offense, but was unable to come away with any points. However, Robert Morris finally broke their scoring drought as Kaela Harbaugh scored with two minutes left in the period, and sent the Eagles into the second intermission leading 4-3.
 
In the third period, Adams tallied her second goal of the night to even the score once again at 4-4. Davenport saw numerous opportunities to put the game away late in regulation, but forced the game into overtime for the first time this season.
 
The Panthers managed an abundance amount of shots on goal in overtime, as well as having several crucial game-saving saves from Caitlin Nosanov, but neither team was able to put the game away, resulting in a 4-4 tie.
 
The Panthers and Eagles will be back in action against each other tomorrow night at 8 p.m., with that contest being played on the NHL rink at the Patterson Ice Center.
