GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After playing the last two games on the road, the No. 2 Davenport women's basketball team comes back to the Student Center to begin a two-game stand with its Beltline rivals Cornerstone and Aquinas. The Golden Eagles will be the first to visit the DU campus Saturday at 1 p.m. and can be followed on the Davenport Athletics Network with Ken Clemens and his son Chad sitting in for Ed Keating.

A Quick Look at Cornerstone
Katie Mattera's third edition of the Golden Eagles have really been playing this month, having won the last six contests and 10th against NAIA schools. In fact, Davenport was the last time the Golden Eagles have lost to an NAIA foe at Mol Arena back in December. Jill Hendrickson has been the leader of Cornerstone on paper, averaging 14.7 points and 9.6 rebounds in 21 games. Five-foot-10 senior Ashley Niedermeyer is one of the best leapers in the WHAC as she currently has to 32 on the season which ranks second in the league. She has 128 blocks in her career.
 
Panthers vs. Golden Eagles
This will be the 25th meeting between Davenport and Cornerstone. The Panthers have been in control of the series over the last few years, having won 10 out of the last 11 contests to improve to 15-9 in the series.
 
The Last Time They Met
The Panthers erased a bad memory at Mol Arena from last season when they were upset by the host Golden Eagles. Kayleigh VanKeulen had 14 points and chipped in four rebounds, Daina Grazulis contributed to a dozen points as the Panthers ran away with a 73-42 win over the Golden Eagles back in December. Davenport held Cornerstone to a cold 27.9 shooting percentage on its home floor.
