GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The women's soccer team traveled across town to play rival Aquinas College Wednesday night. The Panthers looked to add to their two-game winning streak and continue to climb in the WHAC polls.
The Saints scored early as they netted two goals in the first 26 minutes of action and DU could not respond. The Panthers would look to cut the Aquinas lead as they tallied two shots in the first half and five in the second as
Shameeka Fishley led the team with four, but could not beat the Aquinas keeper. The Saints managed to stretch their lead to 5-0 with three second half goals and carried that lead to the horn. This loss leaves the overall record for DU at 5-8-1 with a 2-5 mark in WHAC play.
Tara Gessler made the start in goal and recorded 7:17 of action.
Beth Ledger drew the decision in 82:43 in goal as she allowed five goals and recorded eight saves.
