The Panthers (10-7) fell 4-2 at Patterson Ice Center on Friday snapping an eight-game win streak and turned around the next day for a 4-3 win over the Lakers at Georgetown Ice Arena against the second-ranked team in the Central Region.

The Lakers scored the first two goals on Friday including a power play goal to start things by Michael Bishop in the first period. Collin Finkhouse scored just over one minute into the second period from Thomas Luzynski and Bishop. Zac Bodziak trimmed the lead to 2-1 at 3:59 of the second from Donald Sund and Daniel Swink. Spencer Godin answered for GVSU 33 seconds later to extend the lead back to two from Troy Marrett and Luzynski.

The Panthers scored first on Saturday as Jake Otto notched his fourth of the season from Sund and Branden Burton. The Panthers came storming back as Trevor Murray, Bodziak and Burton reeled off goals for the comeback win. Zac Smith got his first win of the season in net making 27 saves.

"I am really proud of my boys tonight," said head coach Chris Green. "They played awesome and finished the game and first half of the season on a high note. We played tough, smart and fast and committed to playoff-type hockey which is a great sign moving forward."
