Another Successful WHAC Title Defense
Following its 72-48 win at Indiana Tech last Wednesday, Davenport officially clinched a ninth-straight Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference championship after maintaining a four-game lead with three remaining in the season. Along with the crown comes home court advantage to the WHAC Tournament but most importantly the conference's first of two automatic bid to the NAIA Division II Tournament. The Panthers will be making an 11th straight trip to Sioux City, Iowa March 11. The winner of the WHAC Tournament (or runner-up should Davenport win it) will receive the second automatic berth to the NAIA Tournament.

A Quick Look at Lourdes
The Panthers will be the Gray Wolves second consecutive opponent ranked in the NAIA DII Top 25. They are coming off a 73-45 road defeat at then-No. 22 Siena Heights last Saturday. The Gray Wolves shot just 30.8% from the floor, while making just one three-point attempt in 11 tries.  Siena Heights connected at a 54.7% clip while making 7-of-14 shots from beyond the arc. Jesse Fidler was the only Gray Wolf to tally double figures, leading Lourdes with 10 points. Emily Orsini added nine points while Tara Yurek chipped in eight points for the Gray Wolves.

Panthers vs. Gray Wolves
This will be the eighth meeting between Davenport and Lourdes. The Panthers have never lost to the Gray Wolves.

The Last Time They Met
Daina Grazulis scored 18 points and Linnea Brandholm added 15 to lead Davenport's offensive, but the defense came up two points short from tying the Student Center record for fewest points allow in the Panthers 96-34 victory over Lourdes on Jan. 14. Every member of the Panther each contributed to at least two points. Altogether they ended up shooting 54.1 percent from the field throughout the contest, the first time in four games DU has shot over the half century mark. Lourdes was held to 29.2 percent around the perimeter. Lauren Tilden led the effort for the Gray Wolves with eight points.
