ORLANDO, Fla. – In the first matches of the tennis team's spring break trip, both the men and women's teams struggled against Northwood (Fla.). The Lady Panthers dropped their match to the Seahawks, 8-1, as
Puck Luttikhuis grabbed the only win for Davenport in the match, while the men's team lost 9-0 to Northwood (Fla.).The women's tennis team will be back in action on Monday as they face NCAA DI foe, Oakland, and the men's team will return to action in Orlando, Fla., on Tuesday against Capital.

In the women's match, Davenport fell behind in the early going as they dropped all three doubles matches to Northwood (Fla.). The Lady Panthers tried to make a comeback in the singles matches, but
Puck Luttikhuis was the only Panther to grab a win as she won 6-4, 6-2 at singles No. 2. The 12th-ranked women's tennis team was unable to upset eighth-ranked Northwood (Fla.) as they dropped their opening match of the spring season, 8-1, and are now 2-2 overall on the season.

The men's team also struggled in their first match down in hot and humid Florida, as they dropped their third consecutive dual match to start the spring season. After playing indoors for their first three events of the spring, Davenport dropped their match against No. 15 Northwood, 9-0. The Panthers lost all the doubles matches by a score of 8-2, and Davenport was unable to gain momentum in singles as they lost all six matches in straight sets.

The women's tennis team will be back in action on Monday as they face NCAA DI opponent Oakland, while the men will have a day off before they face Capital on Tuesday to continue their Spring Break schedule.
