Box Score ALLENDALE, Mich. – After the D2 hockey team dropped their third straight game of the season on Saturday night, the Panthers looked to close out their regular season with a win on Sunday afternoon.
Donald Sund scored twice for Davenport as they beat Grand Valley 4-1 to snap their three game skid. The Panthers have concluded their regular season schedule and will now wait to see if they qualify for regionals.

After a scoreless first period, both teams came out strong in the second period as
Donald Sund got the scoring started as Davenport took a 1-0 lead with 7:53 left in the second period. The Lakers were able to score with 2:34 left in the second period as the game was tied 1-1 heading into the third period.

In the third period, the Panthers took over in the period as Sund scored his second goal of the game to give the Panthers a 2-1 lead. Alex Stewart tallied his first goal of the game to give Davenport a 3-1 lead with 13:07 left in third period. John Brooks secured the win for Davenport with a goals as DU won 4-1.

Davenport, who was ranked 11th in the Central Region in ACHA D2, will wait and see if they move up in the rankings to qualify for the regional tournament.
