Box Score CHICAGO, Ill. – After winning in overtime on Saturday night against Illinois State, the Davenport D2 hockey team was back in action on Sunday afternoon as they faced Lindenwood in the Central Regional Finals. After
Branden Burton scored for the Panthers early in the second period, Lindenwood was able score the final six goals of the game to beat Davenport 7-1, as the Panthers finished their season with an 18-5-1 record.

Lindenwood got the scoring started in the first period as they scored with 10:27 left in the first period, but Davenport was unable to tie the game in the first period as the Lions took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

After drawing a penalty late in the first period, Davenport started the second period on the power play, and the Panthers were able to tie the game, 1-1, just 33 seconds into the period, as Burton was able to put the Panthers on the board. However, Lindenwood was able to rebound from surrendering the lead as they scored the final three goals of the second period to take a 4-1 lead into the third period.

In the third period, the Panthers were unable to shift the momentum, as the Lions were able to score three more goals in the period as Lindenwood went on to win the game 7-1. With the win, Lindenwood was able to clinch a berth into the ACHA Division 2 National Tournament.

The Panthers conclude their 2014-15 campaign with an overall record of 18-5-1.
