GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport women's tennis team wrapped up their non-conference schedule on Tuesday night as they hosted Spring Arbor (Mich.). The Panthers were able to win their fourth straight match as they defeated the Cougars, 9-0. Davenport will return to action next week as they host Indiana Tech in for the Panthers regular season finale on next Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex.
Alyssa Fuentes and
Emily Spiech got Davenport started with an 8-0 win at doubles one, while
Puck Luttikhuis and
Marcie Kooyers were able to continue the Panthers roll as they grabbed an 8-2 win. In the third and final doubles match,
Bridget Barrett and
Montserrat Elizondo gave DU a 3-0 lead heading into singles after the won their match, 8-3.
In singles, Davenport did not let off the gas as they won all six matches in straight sets to grab a 9-0 win over the Spring Arbor. This is the Panthers fourth straight win and this is there second sweep in the last week as they swept crosstown rival Cornerstone last Wednesday.
Davenport will host Indiana Tech in the Panthers regular season finale next Wednesday at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex at 5 p.m. for senior day.
